Overview

This module presents information about unique characteristics of autism spectrum disorder (ASD), including social-communication, restricted interests and patterns of behavior, sensory, cognition and information processing, and emotional regulation. Five simple strategies are introduced that may be used anytime, anywhere with young children, students, and adults with ASD.

This module is perfect for sharing with families, community members, employers, paraprofessionals, general educators, and others who are interested in learning more about supporting individuals on the spectrum.

This module includes American Sign Language and Spanish options.

Many Faces of Autism is one section of a learning series, Foundations of Evidence-Based Strategies, from the Autism Certificate Center (ACC).

  • If you are interested CEUs from specific providers, you may want to complete the Many Faces of Autism on the ACC website.
  • If you are considering taking, or later decide to take, Foundations of Evidence-Based Strategies through ACC, you will need to complete Many Faces of Autism through ACC.
  • You will receive a general certificate for completing Many Faces of Autism here on the Autism Internet Module site.
